JOB: ASSISTANT MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTANT

SALARY: UP TO 29K + STUDY SUPPORT

The Business & Opportunity:

As part of a larger global business, this is a Leeds based leading entertainment venue, famous for hosting live music, comedy and sporting events. As part of their ongoing success and growth, they now require an ambitious Assistant Management Accountant to join their expanding team. 

Working alongside the Finance Business Partner, you will help produce management accounts from journal stage to monthly packs, together with providing detailed forecasting and budgeting.

In addition to working in a dynamic, commercial environment, you will be given the flexibility of some hybrid working, and be provided with study support for your AAT/ACCA/CIMA.

Specific Requirement:

• Alongside the Finance Business Partner, provide high quality MI and detailed commercial financial analysis of the operations to support decision making.
• Provide add value MI for Department Heads to review financial results and forecasts.
• Assist with the preparation of annual departmental budgets.
• Help with the preparation of monthly re-forecasts.
• Assist with the preparation of monthly packs for monthly Business Review and attend meeting.
• Prepare MI for European Group Finance team.
• Produce event settlements, event flash and sales reports, and weekly performance trackers.
• Assist with preparation of reports for landlords/external stakeholders.
• Prepare month end journals and process in Finance System.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations.
• Support with the preparation of audit files and audit queries.
• Bank reconciliations on an ad-hoc basis.
• Workings for venue VAT return on a quarterly basis.
• Completion of FEU & PRS returns.
• Calculate promoter rebates.
• Carry out safe/petty cash counts and reconciliations.
• Ad hoc project work as directed by the Finance Business Partner.

Skills & Experience required:

• Part or Qualified AAT, or already commenced CIMA or ACCA studies, with the ambition to become qualified.
• Worked as a Finance Assistant, with experience in accruals, pre-payments & journals.
• Competent with Excel, formulas, v. look-ups etc.
• Thrive in a fast paced, commercial environment.
• Excellent planning, organisational and time management skills.
• Resilient, able to work well under pressure.
• Excellent interpersonal, influencing and communication skills.
