JOB: SENIOR PRACTICE ACCOUNTANT

SALARY: 55-65K + HYBRID WORKING & FLEXITIME

Specific Requirement:

As a Senior member of the team, your remit will be varied and all-encompassing. Specifically, this will include….

• Working closely with all staff, using your commercial acumen in helping drive the business forward.
• Preparing Statutory Accounts and corporation tax returns for SME clients. These include limited companies with turnovers ranging from 500k to £5m.
• All elements of Personal tax, from assisting with the preparation of self-assessment returns to more senior tax planning.
• Working closely with the bookkeepers and management accountants to ensure smooth operation of all compliance work and helping with any queries beyond their scope.
• Reviewing VAT returns for accuracy.
• Managing a varied portfolio of clients across a range of industries, ensuring a high level of client service is maintained.
• Developing strong relationships with clients, being the ‘go-to’ person for help.
• Playing a key part in advisory projects and being on hand with other departments.

Skills & Experience Required:

• Qualified ACA/ACCA/CTA with excellent technical knowledge.
• A wealth of general practice and tax experience in a senior capacity from an accountancy firm.
• Fully digitally comfortable, specifically with Xero (although training can be provided, so is not a pre-requisite).
• A commercial mindset to play a key part in making the firm even more successful.
• The necessary personality traits, these being: drive, ambition, enthusiasm, passion and excellent client facing skills.
• A true problem solver, well-organised and able to effectively manage your own workload.
• Suit a dynamic and fast-paced SME environment where team ethos is paramount.
