JOB: ACCOUNTS MANAGER
SALARY: 35-40K + BONUS + PARKING
LOCATION: LEEDS (LS13)
The Business & Opportunity:
Lyons Recruitment are delighted to be working in a retained partnership with this highly reputable, profitable and established textile company. As a family-run business throughout many generations, they have always been a market leader supplying the UK’s leading retailers aswell as exporting worldwide.
As part of their continued growth, they require a hands-on Accounts Manager to take responsibility for all finance related tasks, with the help of a small team. Reporting to the Directors, you will be part of the management team, providing add-value information to the rest of the business.
You will be based at their main premises, conveniently located between Leeds and Bradford.
Specific Requirement:
Your remit will be wide, predominantly finance related, whilst also being the point of contact for HR queries.
You will produce accounts to trial balance, manage a small team, and take responsibility for weekly wages and HR tasks. Specifically, this will include…
- Manage the accounts team consisting of two assistants.
- Attendance and input at weekly management meetings.
- Point of contact and liaison with external accountants.
- Accounts to trial-balance.
- Month end procedures including the General Ledger of 2 companies.
- Quarterly mending statistics.
- Balance sheet accounts.
- Quarterly VAT Returns.
- Manage all export related documents and queries.
- Daily Cash reports.
- Resolve Sales and Purchase ledger queries.
- Credit Control.
- Manage accounting systems (Pegasus Opera)
- Weekly and monthly payroll duties.
- Other HR tasks such as personnel files, managing absences, pensions & recruitment.
Skills & Experience required:
- Likely to be Qualified By Experience (QBE), but qualified accountants (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) are also welcome to apply.
- Ideally worked in a similar hands-on capacity with an SME.
- Worked within industry such as manufacturing, textile, engineering, FMCG.
- Experience with international/multi-currency payments, together will knowledge of exporting will be helpful.
- Competent user of Excel. (Pegasus Opera will also prove advantageous, but is by no means essential).
- Thrive working in a family-run business and culture, with strong interpersonal skills to manage the accounts team and liaise at all levels.
- Whilst your accounting skills will be considered most important, any knowledge of HR procedures will also prove beneficial.

- A competitive starting salary of between £35,000-£40,000

- Standard hours are 8.30am-5.15pm (4.30pm on a Friday). However, an element of flexitime will certainly be considered for the right candidate.
